WHAT WE OFFER

The CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Community manages Covestro’s financial processes. It is also responsible for providing legal services and IT solutions to the company as a whole.

The Group Closing & Financial Reporting team prepares the monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as the uniform basis for internal and external reporting. In addition to the coordination of the monthly data delivery and the closing process, this also includes the implementation of suitable consolidation measures.

• In your new position you will be actively involved in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements of the Covestro Group and will ensure the correct reporting of equity and investments in the Covestro consolidated financial statements

• You will be responsible for the correct execution of consolidation tasks in SAP SEM-BCS (in particular, consolidation of investments), as well as for analyzing and monitoring reported financial data for equity and investments. You will also have global responsibility for the process of collecting and processing additional financial data, which is a prerequisite for the successful execution of consolidation of investments

• In addition, you will evaluate whether an investment has to be included in the consolidated financial statements using the equity method and carry out the corresponding manual postings in SAP SEM-BCS

• You will have the technical responsibility and maintenance of the global company register in SAP SEM-BCS and will carry out the conceptual development of the consolidation in case of group structure changes (e.g. mergers, acquisitions, divestments etc.)

• You will also be involved in the analysis of new IFRS requirements and their effects on the consolidation process

• Finally, you will represent the Covestro Group in internal and external working groups

WHAT YOU OFFER

• You have a university degree (Master) in business administration with a focus on accounting and/or controlling or a comparable education

• In addition, you have several years of relevant professional experience in accounting, ideally with a focus on consolidation or group reporting

• Advanced SAP SEM-BCS-/SAP BW-, MS-Office knowledge, especially Excel, is required

• Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting and reporting requirements will help you distinguish yourself

• You have a profound knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the accounting standards, methods and processes relevant for internal and external reporting, especially with regard to consolidation and group accounting

• You have excellent communication and presentation skills at all hierarchical levels, a strong analytical and strategic mindset, and the ability to challenge the status quo and drive change
