About the Opportunity: *
Beatport has one of the biggest, most active and loyal customer bases in the electronic music industry. There are a lot of possibilities to turn our data into value for both the customers and the business itself. We are therefore looking for a driven and ambitious Business Analyst to join our Business Analytics team, based in Berlin or London.
You will be working with data from many different sources: data about online customer behaviour, purchase data, music usage data, marketing data and survey results.
The Business Analytics (BA) department is responsible for providing actionable insights and analytical support to the top management, business, product and technology teams. Our team mission is to create a data-driven mindset across the company, ensuring that data is at the heart of every decision we make at Beatport.

What you will be doing: *

• Explore and analyse customer behaviour and product performance data in order to detect growth opportunities for the Beatport Group product portfolio and improve user experience (knowledge of statistical methods is a plus).
• Analyse our data, validate quality, and investigate issues or identify opportunities to meet business needs.
• Improve business processes to improve data-driven decisions. Build and improve reports and Looker dashboards, adopting a self-service framework catering to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Create and clearly communicate compelling data stories from different sources to support operational teams.
• Support product teams to validate changes, debug, and ensure the expected results from the user point of view
• Handling ad-hoc data requests from Beatport stakeholders as well as ensuring the quality of the underlying data. Coordinate with Beatport stakeholders to identify and develop reporting requirements.

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

• Good English written and verbal communication skills covering business and technical concepts
• You have a degree in the following subjects; statistics or data science, mathematics or economics.
• Experienced in Python and SQL
• Knowledge of statistical models
• Any experience with BigQuery, Google Analytics or Looker is a plus
• Experience creating and implementing machine learning models is a plus
• At least 2 years of working experience in a data-driven/analytical role
• Attention to detail, data sceptic, ensure accurate and quality results
• A curious thinker who demonstrates interests in a wide range of business and technical subjects and likes diving into and making sense of large, diverse datasets
• You can estimate business impact for a project and derive recommendations for prioritization
• Passionate about DJing / music production and have a strong interest in music and the music industry as a whole
