We are looking to recruit an agricultural scientist (m/f/d) – for the next possible date, limited for 2 years and full-time – as a subject expert in the role of a product owner to support the development of innovative web applications and join an agile and growing development team within KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Lower Saxony.

Do you want to be part of a dynamic project working on the digitalization of breeding and seed production-related field activities by creating using GIS-based web and mobile applications for the collection and documentation of all in-field activities – with a focus on the agronomic and breeding related components?

Your new challenges:
  • Drive the ongoing development of an in-house field planning and management platform based on interactions with breeders, research and development teams, and research /commercial breeding stations
  • Identify, document, and refine requirements from agronomic/ breeding business problems to detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with the development teams to create the required application features
  • Testing (office and in-field) and efficient operational deployment of features
  • User support and problem-solving
Bring in your competencies
  • University degree in agricultural science, agricultural engineering, biology, plant breeding or comparable qualification
  • Sound experience in the area of agriculture and farming practices
  • Experience with plant breeding and breeding databases are advantageous
  • Knowledge of and affinity to support the digitalization of research and seed production-related activities
  • Knowledge of agile processes (Scrum) is a plus
  • Excellent team player in an international multicultural environment
  • Open-minded, self-motivated, structured, and customer satisfaction orientated
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written), German is an additional advantage
