Dow Industrial Solutions has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Account Manager located in Wiesbaden, Germany
As Account Manager you will be responsible for sales of the Dow Industrial Solution product portfolio of both Specialty and Intermediates Chemicals in Germany.
The individual responsible for this role will reside in our Commercial office in Wiesbaden and will need to travel.
The position involves strategic management of current sales while identifying new opportunities for unmet customer’s needs - driving profitable business growth .
Beyond today’s sales, a key objective is an ambitious growth strategy. This will require developing strong, in-depth relationships with customers in the assigned region. It will require a mentality to hunt for and convert opportunities.
Experience in account management around price, volume and product mix management is considered an advantage. Chemical education and/or Chemical industry experience is considered a plus but not mandatory.
Strong teamwork will be required between the individual assuming this role and other functions contributing to our growth initiatives. This would include Marketing, Sales Service, Technical Service and Research & Development among others.
Core Responsibility :
- Develops and builds relationships with internal and external customers and influencers.
- Identify new opportunities, offer technical solutions, qualify them and create value for the customer and Dow
- Produces appropriate sales forecasts and is able to capitalize on/ compensate for market changes.
- Recognizes, anticipates, and solves customer problems resulting in business opportunities and revenue growth.
- Achieves sales goals and objectives in assigned territory as derived by business strategies and marketing plans.
- Develops knowledge of assigned Dow products and targeted applications.
- Understands and proactively analyses customer’s product and service needs, industry, and business.
- Uses account planning tools, margin management tools, and electronic technology to develop and share account plans with appropriate stakeholders
- Shares business and industry intelligence with Dow counterparts (marketing, research and development, tech service, customer service, etc) to promote increased revenue and value
- Creating SMART goals consistent with business strategy.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree. Master degree is considered a plus.
- 2 - 4 years of sales experience in the Chemical industry or related products
- Sales related experience desired – Other experiences will also be highly considered. Supply chain, Commercial excellence or Operations.
- Ability to combine technical aptitude and commercial ability. Interest and / or experience on digital environment (tools, processes)
- Ability to grow sales by developing key relationships
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work independently (self-starter, initiative)
- Demonstrate high levels of motivation and deliver outstanding results.
- Remains focused despite challenging circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in German are required.
- Fluency in English essential. Any additional local languages a bonus
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time (this is in normal time & not during covid times)
