Mobility & Materials (M&M) is looking for a Process Safety Management Specialist to work on exciting and challenging topics with a diverse global team of manufacturing and EHS experts. You will work in an innovative, creative and collaborative environment with responsibility for the development and application of technology, management systems, and hazard assessment tools designed to protect people, property, and the environment by controlling the risks of unplanned events such as fires, explosions, and chemical releases. This role has broad and complex business and geographic alignment responsibilities and influences changes to DuPont’s process safety technology requirements and initiatives via involvement in various collaborations at the corporate level and across businesses.

Responsibilities Description

Reporting to the Director Global EHS, this role will be accountable to work with key stakeholders including senior leadership to define, develop, implement, and manage key process safety management systems for continuous EHS improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Develop and implement a global strategy for defining and implementing a world class Process Safety Management program across the business in alignment with recognized DuPont PSM EHS Standards.
  • Participate in capital project planning and helping ensure that all aspects of PSM are effectively addressed within new sites or major projects and alterations at existing plant sites that require business-level approval based on the DuPont Global Project System (GPS), including, but not limited to, design and operability of process hazard analysis (PHAs), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), facility siting, inherent safety, staffing, and pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSRs).
  • Provide oversight and leadership for applicable PSM-leveraged systems and processes within the M&M business.
  • Work with EHS and manufacturing leadership to define risk levels related to major financial impacts, where applicable, as part of PHA activities and capital.
  • Provide active leadership and assigning and tracking specific accountabilities for PSM program development and integration in alignment with EHS Standards.
  • Develop and maintain a program that supports PSM auditing of off-site contract manufacturing and tolling operations based on business contractual agreements and risk assessments, as applicable.
  • Lead a PSM competency team/network across the business which includes mentoring to less experienced PSM resources.
  • Help to ensure that PSM-related procedures, practices, systems, metrics, and goals or initiatives unique to the business are maintained, updated, and communicated to the sites and other organizations, where applicable.
  • Define Process Safety templates, standardized tools and guidance that can be leveraged globally.
  • Provide process safety management expertise for Management of Change, including support on MOCs and root cause assessments.
Job Qualifications

A successful candidate must have
  • Several years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline is required.
  • Fluency in English required.
Skills Desirable But Not Mandatory Are
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety tools.
  • Leadership roles in Manufacturing.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills needed to work with large variety of clients.
  • Demonstration of high self-initiative in previous roles.
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering Preferred.
