Your tasks


The Ocean Operational Accounting Optimization Manager drives operational accounting process re-engineering and automation. They co-develop business cases for implementation and value realization of Global Product Processes & Systems initiatives related to operational accounting. Key success criteria for the function are operational unit cost as well as process and data quality.
Your tasks:
  • Facilitate process re-engineering, improvement and gap analyses of current/to-be processes during workshops or tactical interaction with Operations
  • Developing required documentation such as workshop agenda, presentations, gap analysis reports, process flow diagrams, roles/responsibilities
  • Identifying areas of process improvement (efficiency and effectiveness) and recommending solu-tions that detail pros, cons, and risks
  • Develop plans to implement process improvement, raising justified investment request where applicable, closely in line with Production Systems and Process teams
  • Closely consults with Operations, Business Architecture and Data Management regarding project implementation
  • Promoting continuous process improvement practices through process metrics/KPIs, dashboards and role accountabilities
  • Lead quality investigations and Root Cause Analysis using lean tools to improve operational data quality
  • Promote a paperless, digital office environment utilizing all modern communication methods and electronic tools provided by DB Schenker
  • Reports results, KPIs, projects etc. to the Global Head of Ocean Optimization

Requirements

Your profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience
  • Several years process and project management experience, ideally within the Freight Forwarding industry
  • Proven experience in defining and deploying best practice processes and in identifying solutions from a people, process and technology perspective
  • Experience in driving large scale, complex change initiatives and programs to a successful implementation
  • Solid experience in requirements gathering, including experience in creating process documentation
  • Experience related to operational accounting within the freight forwarding industry
  • Proficient in process management competences
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills (proficiency in Visio, Excel, Signavio, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing well-balanced options including pros/cons and risks) while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, outcome-oriented attitude and ability to deal with cultural diversity
