The Role

In this position you will be responsible as a team lead for Supply Chain EMEA with the complete costs overview, including monthly reporting. Also KPI’s tracking and monitoring, in order to support Plant management and Supply Chain management in their decision making process are part of your responsibility. The Team Lead Plant Controlling & Inventories will play a key financial support and partnering role with the EMEA management.

What You Will Do

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & MEASUREMENT:

Drive business results and be perceived as a key influencer of strategy through detailed inventory analysis & meaningful management reports each month. Work closely with the EMEA management and the leadership teams, acting as Management Navigator. Challenging and contributing to the decision making to prepare and achieve the budget & forecast, and analysis on productivity / KPI performance.

Management Accounting/Process

Setting up and defining the product costing processes for EMEA. Set-up of conversion cost model in the plant. Introduce the concept and implementation (Plant controlling). Review the monthly financial, KPI reporting package; analyze actual performance and derive action plans to mitigate gaps or further leverage successes. Produce monthly, quarterly and year end closing Management Accounts.

Financial Accounting

Supervise and completion of monthly financial accounting activities in line with Kao corp. timetable and Kao accounting policies. Takes a lead on inter Company Transfer Pricing simplification projects. Promotes sound inventory management via robust procedures and accuracy of BOM design and physically verified balances with Plant Operations and rest of Supply Chain partners.

Planning And Budgeting

Validate the production volumes to be used for budgeting, quarterly forecast updates. Communicate findings to Production Logistics & Planning and requests corrections if needed. Advise and partner with Supply Chain leadership on course of action to achieve business targets and financial imperatives (net productivity, cost spending).

Controls And Compliance

Ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and controls are embedded into Supply Chain EMEA accounting and business practices. Ensure internal controls/policies for SOX compliance in place.

People Management

Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee on boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Empower employees to take responsibility for their role and objectives.

What You Will Need

  • University degree or equivalent in finance business studies
  • Preferable qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in an analytical discipline
  • 5-8 years’ experience in financial management accounting teams, experience in plant controlling and has led teams in areas of accounting, controlling, analysis or reporting
  • Experienced with various financial methods, reporting tools and presentation methods
  • Experience in working in a global FMCG/Retail business with mature management accounting functions and sophisticated business support systems, e.g. SAP
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing
  • SAP/BI/BW
  • Fluent in English & German
  • Strong financial business analysis skills
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of interacting with all levels of supply chain
  • Team player
  • Planning and priority / time management and organization skills
