G&H, Cleveland is a world leader in the growth of crystals and the design and manufacturing of electro-optic devices for aerospace & defence, industrial, life science and scientific research applications. This position supports the fabrication and manufacturing of crystals used in these applications. The responsibilities include process analysis, optimization of manufacturing processes, evaluation of new fabrication and polishing technologies leading to purchase and implementation of Capital Equipment, development of complete manufacturing documentation, and continuous improvement activities. We are seeking someone with a degree in Engineering and proficiency in mechanical fabrication., * Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes required to efficiently make finished goods, from raw material to final cleaning and shipment.
  • Work with Technicians assigned to related Value Stream to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment necessary for manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain associated documentation within Value Stream (work instructions, inspection plans, travellers, etc.) and follow the Engineering Change Process for all projects (FMEA, drawings, specifications, test plans, etc.).
  • Implement, maintain, analyse and react to various production performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Participate in non-conforming material review process by supporting containment and review activities, root cause analysis, driving production disposition, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Work as a key member of a cross functional team including Process, Quality, and Design Engineering.
  • Proven competence in defining problems, collecting data, establishing conclusions, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot mechanical fabrication equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment, Lean/6 Sigma (preferred)
  • Minimum 4 year degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Materials Science preferred)
