As a Team Manager you will lead a specialist team of engineers to ensure the highest level of customer support.About The JobThis is a customer facing role, leading a small team of engineers to connect customer applications with the best anti-vibration products, using the existing product portfolio and designing new products. The local engineering team form part of the global engineering function who provide support for each other daily. Reporting to the Head of Product Engineering the Team manager will
  • Lead a team of 4 engineers, carry out evaluation reviews, provide mentoring & assist with personal development
  • Together with your team you will design and develop anti-vibration solutions to fulfill customer needs
  • You will lead the development of innovative new products which are key to the future success of the business. Understanding market trends and shifting customer needs to keep ahead of our competition
  • Carry out rigid body dynamic simulation to select suitable products from the existing range to meet customer application requirements
  • Generate detailed CAD models and drawings for customer and manufacturing use
  • Together with your team you develop test programs which demonstrate the suitability of products for specific applications and document the subsequent results as part of the validation
  • To provide advice and guidance to the customer on product performance
  • Ensure that departmental procedures are in place and functional
  • Provide collaboration and support for manufacturing departments
About The Ideal Candidate
  • You have a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role within the rubber-to-metal anti-vibration products industry plus a degree in Mechanical, Polymer or Elastomer Engineering
  • Experience in leading teams is crucial as well as excellent communication skills which you have proven in the past while interacting efficiently with customers in a professional manner
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the principles of vibration and calculation methods
  • You are able to design and communicate the information presented on complex engineering drawings and have a sound grasp of product design. 3D CAD knowledge is an essential requirement.
  • You must be able to demonstrate product design experience and understand the detailed design process. A high level of attention to detail is essential.
  • In addition, you will demonstrate experience in applying analytical approaches to the resolution of design solutions
  • You are familiar with and capable of using Microsoft programs
  • Be confident in presenting to customer engineering teams
  • Key customer segments are construction equipment / agricultural equipment manufacturers who produce vehicles such as excavators, loaders, combine harvesters etc. Applicants with knowledge or experience within these segments are also encouraged to apply
