Software Engineering Manager (m|f|d)

What you will accomplish together with us

• Providing direction, coaching, and guidance to software teams in two different geographical locations (Göttingen, Germany and Arvada, Colorado, USA)

• Line management duties of a local software and testing team (Göttingen), including external contractors

• Ensuring departmental compliance to Sartorius processes, best practices, and regulatory demands

• Ensuring smooth and high-efficiency operation of software development process (Scrum) in product development teams in a sustainable way

• Ensuring high quality of software releases, on time and within budget

• Aligning strategic technology choices and tools with other software development departments

• Coaching team members in currently known best practices (CI/CD, TDD, Agile, Scrum)

• Participating in answering to technical customer requests

• Participating in inter-departmental initiatives for process improvement and regulatory affairs

• Communicating with all types of stakeholders

What will convince us

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science (or comparable)

• Several years of professional experience, of which at least few years as a team lead or a technical lead

• Proven track record of participation in successful embedded systems projects

• Solid technical background in software architecture and embedded systems design and implementation

• Deep knowledge about current best practices in software development and system testing

• Leverage agile way of working

• Great communicator, including presentation skills and an empathetic approach to inter-personal communication

• Excellent or native level of written and spoken English

• Ability to travel (15%) as needed
