Be part of the team that connects rigorous technical design to the future of air travel. TheNew Product Development Team team withinBoeing Global Services is seeking a Senior Interiors Electronics Engineer (M/F/D)to join our team in Hamburg, Germany.

This role will support our New Product Development team in Boeing Global Services and will focus on bringing new products to market inside the cabin. This includes the interior of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety. Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds.

Senior Interiors Electronics Engineer is responsible for leading the development and integration of an Electrical Sub-Teamfor the development of new aerospace interiors electronic products ensuring all customer, regulatory, and Boeing requirements are met.To be successful requires leading and coaching a team of international engineers through the detail design and certification process and extensive coordination with Test Engineers, Supplier Management, Supplier, numerous interfacing program commodity teams and regulators. In addition, a strong engineering foundation is needed to review and approve technical data, understand certification test requirements, prepare detail and assembly engineering releases, author and release compliance summary reports. Must be able to represent the company professionally in demanding environments.

The engineering team is located around the globe and will require flexibility to support meeting at any time, as well the need for international travel (50% or more).

Engineering team is seeking candidates with experience in any of the following areas:

  • Engineering support and project leadership through a certification project
  • Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers
  • Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Design for manufacturing

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads development and certification of Electrical Sub-Team for the development of new aerospace interiors electronic products
  • Ensures requirements meet analysis of customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products. Leads development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
  • Demonstrates compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements including: Electrical load analysis documents & wire bundle installations, Test plans and reports, Compliance Statements, System Safety Assessment, Equipment and EWIS documents
  • Leads reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements.
  • Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Leads and coaches a global engineering team on meeting aerospace standards and requirements for electrical engineering
  • Creates and performs trainings for electrical engineers on interiors components
  • Participates in technical meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI in support of program milestones
  • Works under minimal direction

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelors of Science degree (or higher) from an accredited course of study, in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering
  • 9 years of experience with electronic components/products design and/or analysis
  • Fluency in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
  • Strong knowledge of certification through FAA and/or EASA

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience within aerospace and electronic component design and integration and leading a cross-functional team
  • Familiarization with Boeing Tools such as: ENOVIA, CATIA, PDM, REDARS, WIRS, FASTR, Equipment Manager
  • Understanding of Boeing Drawing Release System and Boeing Standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate across multiple disciplines with internal and external customers
  • Working with suppliers through concurrent engineering and supporting supplier initial production through First Article Inspections
  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development
