The Position

In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. This position is located in Biological Core Technologies, a department within the Therapeutic Modalities function, where the design, supply and development of protein therapeutics is a primary focus. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.

Job mission

We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a technician or bachelor (m/f/d) in Biotechnology, to work with a highly engaged team of automation specialists using state-of-the art robotic high-throughput systems. You will be responsible for automated purification and characterization of therapeutic molecules and closely collaborate with units discovering Biologics and generating expression cell lines.

Your impact
  • Performing purifications of therapeutically active proteins in an automated high throughput manner and providing these molecules for functional characterization
  • Characterizing and evaluating the product quality of cell lines using the latest high throughput analytical methods and support the selection of appropriate production cell lines
  • Driving the development and implementation of robot-based purification and analytical methods for therapeutic proteins and ensuring the integration into existing IT landscapes
  • Thorough analyzing, documenting and visualizing of data to facilitate transparent decision-making within the teams

Your profile

You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment, which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development. Furthermore, you have a keen interest in working with modern robotic systems and IT based control and analysis and you also have relevant work experience in this environment. You appreciate working in a performance-driven environment that is based on mutual respect, discussion and cooperation.

Technically, you have successfully completed your bachelor in biotechnology or a related field. Alternatively, you have a chemical or biological laboratory assistant education with qualification as technician. In any case, you are knowledgeable in protein purification and analytics and preferentially have experience in the field of laboratory automation.

This position is limited to a period of 2 year
