As an applied scientist, you will conduct and guide algorithmic-research driven software development. We process millions of customer orders every week and our systems make fundamental scheduling, planning, and routing decisions within our warehouses, hence your solutions could have a direct and visible impact on the efficiency of our warehouses.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- Collaboratively conduct research, design and implement algorithms to improve our optimization engines
- Deliver end-to-end solutions and set the bar for the whole development cycle that includes research, prototyping, implementing production software, as well as testing and operating the highly available production system
- Influence our research and development methodologies to foster a scalable and data-driven architecture
- Think abstractly and discover correlations between problems, methodologies, and solutions
- Master or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or another quantitative field together with experience in algorithm-related software development in Java, Kotlin, or similar
- Proficiency in the state-of-the-art methods in software design, architecture and distributed system, e.g. microservices and RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of operational research techniques, mathematical optimization methods, queueing theory, discrete-event simulation, together with corresponding applied research experience
- Ability to work, collaborate and communicate in an agile and cross-functional team with engineers, product owners and other applied scientists
