What the job entails
Your role will be to support the academic work of Research Centre staff in the field of empirical microeconomics, particularly through your involvement in the survey projects conducted by the Research Centre. You will process and analyse microdata on the behaviour and expectations of enterprises and/or households. Working in an international team, you will contribute to the Bundesbank’s decision-making processes by providing insights into key issues based on academic research.

The remuneration for this position corresponds to pay grade 13 of the wage agreement for the public sector (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst) plus a bank allowance. What we are looking for
  • (Accredited) master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a degree programme with a quantitative focus (e.g. economics or statistics) with above-average results; ideally, enrolled in or pursuing a PhD programme in economics or statistics;
  • Working towards a specialisation in the area of empirical microeconomics;
  • Firm grounding in mathematical/statistical applications (e.g. Stata or R) and experience in working with microdata;
  • Knowledge of data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau) and experience as a research assistant would be advantageous;
  • Good written communication skills, ability to work in a team and intercultural skills;
  • Very good command of written and spoken English; a grounding in German would be an advantage.
