As Regional Automation Manager (f/m/d) you will be the go-to-person within the European region in all matters of automation technology within contract logistics.
Your Role

Standard procedures and solutions will only take a business so far. Our clients need inspired thinking to go beyond the traditional limits. Therefore, we offer logistics solutions with the newest technologies and processes. Having a full list of exciting automation projects at hand, we seek for an EMEA expert for all automation topics to oversee and support projects from a regional level. In this role you will support automation projects wherever needed in the solutions design during tender phase or also in implementing automation technology. Your Responsibilities
  • Design and develop partnerships and contracts with suppliers and systems integrators of new automated solutions (e.g. Autostore, ASRS solutions, enhanced picking solutions, AGVs, VGV’s , ARMs, conveyor systems, robotic picking solutions) to meet the increasing needs for automation
  • Working closely with the Business Development and Solutions Engineering teams to develop and approve solutions to meet the increasing demands for automated solutions in the 3PL / logistics industry
  • Support customer communication in the process of developing solutions with automation requirements
  • Optimization of existing automation within our operations to ensure automated output is maximized to meet the needs of the business
  • Setting up the correct levels of KPI’s from the automation with IS teams to ensure operational cadence can be maintained
  • Commissioning of new equipment and solutions including arranging and managing production trials and testing as well as training of operational teams to ensure solution readiness
  • Trouble shooting with IS Teams, Engineering Teams and suppliers for on-site problem solving
  • Development of all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions connected to new automation and any changes to existing solutions

Your Skills And Experiences
  • Profound practical experience within automation environments with extensive technical skills for setting up complex automation solutions as well as experience in optimizing automated solutions
  • Hands-on experience in managing implementation and commissioning of new automated systems
  • Ideally experience within contract logistics
  • Knowledge of automation control systems and the interfacing of these to either Warehouse Management Systems or other systems such as production control systems
  • Strong focus on innovation and new technologies and the ability to understand and to implement those into either new or existing supply chains
  • Experience in managing supplier contracts and support
  • Ability to turn ideas into reality and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams and processes
  • Readiness to travel up to 50% within EMEA region
