We are looking for Program Segment Manager – Battery System (m/f/d) for the western hemisphere located in Germany or France (could be Home Office based)

Purpose of the role:

  • Develop and execute a global segment plan to differentiate us from competition and to successfully capture pipeline and business
  • Capture future market trends and needs, build and execute multi generation technology roadmap in terms of product development, data generation, know how domain generation
  • Guide and support the commercial team for success through segment expertise as well as through aligning internal resources such as T&I, BLs and MarComm
Responsibilities:
Key Activities
  • Develop and execute a global segment plan to differentiate us from competition: growth targets, where to play (target applications, target customers), how to play (imperatives for differentiation and technology roadmap),
  • Observe value chain to identify leaders and trend setters; align with Commercial team on coverage
  • Develop, keep and share deep application insights (applications, customer needs/CTQs, solutions)
  • Develop Technology roadmap for differentiation and prioritize resources for execution:
  • Collect and consolidate trends and drivers regarding regulatory framework, requirements/specifications, battery system technologies
  • Set up relationships to research teams at leaders/trend setters
  • Guide the commercial team regarding VOC and/or conduct VOC to better capture trends and customer needs
  • Observe competitive landscape and define our positioning
  • Translate into product, data, know how domain needs; prioritize and align with T&I on execution
  • Observe landscape to partner with 3rd party providers such as universities/institutes, engineering companies, technology providers; align with T&I and Commercial team on coverage decisions
  • Prepare and drive roll outs of new products as well as results coming from technology roadmap activities (e.g. data)
  • Provide input and align with Business Lines on pricing and capacity strategies
  • Provide input for market communication to create awareness amongst customers
  • Assure appropriate market intelligence (e.g. production FC, tear down data, value chain info)
Qualifications:
Key Abilities:
  • Engineering/technical background in Automotive battery development and or Automotive electric powertrain; additional business/commercial background desirable
  • Has a network and a proven track record in the Battery/Automotive industry
  • Thinks and acts strategically:
    • Understands the battery/electric powertrain segment / business, is very tech savvy
    • Can deal with complex and ambiguous situations
    • Balances the stakeholders
