As part of our global Flavor Division, the Category Culinary EAME (Europe, Africa & Middle East) creates winning taste solutions for all culinary food categories and plays a significant role in the strong and profitable growth of Symrise. The Culinary Application team contributes to this growth by developing solutions for customers that range from flavors to complete application recipes.

In order to execute the short-and long term regional category strategy, the Savory Product Developer (m/f/d) will manage a wide range of application projects across all culinary food categories – soups, sauces, bouillon cubes, marinades, ketchups, ready to eat, instant noodles and meat analogues. As technical leader, you will be responsible for proposing effective and efficient flavors and flavor solutions for selected applications. Furthermore, you will provide hands-on support for new product development in the assigned categories, taking full responsibility for the in-time and customer relevant execution.

Working closely with dedicated project teams and cross-functional experts, you will have the chance to leverage your solid expertise and innovative mindset to represent Symrise on a technological level to pioneer, develop and maintain long-term customer and supplier relationships.

In this a highly diversified role, you will be able to:

• Develop customer-relevant application concepts in close cooperation with Flavor Creation, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Category Management, Business Development, Marketing, Sensory & Consumer Insight, Purchasing
• Scout and evaluate new technologies, trends and raw materials in the culinary food categories and implement them into new concepts
• Build up customer intimacy via consulting customers not only on flavors, but also on application recipes and/or technologies
• Build partnerships with relevant raw material suppliers and equipment suppliers/manufacturers to shorten development times and to enable optimal solutions for our customers
• Liaise and exchange with other application experts within the EAME region and globally
• Ensure hygienic, safety and technical standards for equipment and working environment

• Bachelor degree in Food Technology or comparable fields; alternatively long term experience with the development of culinary products with additional training/education
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the development of savory / culinary food products in industry
• Thorough understanding of the culinary market, trends and consumer motivations in relevant product categories
• Excellent technical understanding in relevant product categories
• Excellent knowledge and experience in project management
• Proven ability to build robust professional relationships resulting in strong internal and external networks
• Demonstrated customer and service orientation
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of relevant IT systems
• Willingness to travel to customers and Symrise hubs in Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME region)
• Fluency in English both verbal and written; ideally German language skills (or willingness to learn German)
