About EIT Health

EIT Health – a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) under the umbrella of the European Institute
of Innovation and Technology (EIT) – focuses on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and education
in the domain of healthy living and active ageing. EIT Health brings together leading organisations along
the entire value chain – including smaller companies, larger industry, excellent academic and research
institutions, and public sector organisations – to promote healthy living, support active ageing and
improve healthcare by removing barriers to innovation, building talent and education, leveraging
enabling technologies and exploiting big data.

EIT Health achieves regional representation through Regional Innovation Hubs (RIH) and an InnoStars
office in different cities around Europe. The newest office is the Austrian Regional Innovation Hub in
Vienna, which is now looking for a full-time Entrepreneurship Lead.

About the role: EIT Health Austria Entrepreneurship Lead

The Entrepreneurship Lead will engage with the region’s potential professionals, trainees, post-graduate
students, entrepreneurs and start-ups to build awareness on, and attract, EIT Health applications for
Pillars: Innovation, Business Creation and Education.

The successful candidate will know innovative partners and entrepreneurs in the region, understand
their needs and consult with relevant Pillar Leads. The person will represent the Hub in the external
ecosystem, and run all local aspects of programmes, such as local competition/selection events, partner
and start-up matchmaking events, bootcamps, etc. Experience in this field of activities is a plus.
Moreover, the Entrepreneurship Lead will work with the Stakeholder Relations Lead to source additional
funding for the sustainability of the organisation in the future.

Profile

• Academic degree in a relevant health or science discipline and professional, specialist or

managerial qualification and/or equivalent experience.

• Experience in health or science innovation, education and/or entrepreneurship ecosystem,

including relevant national research and innovation funding.

• Should have worked with early-stage entrepreneurs as well as the entrepreneurship support

community (investors, coaches, mentors, etc.).

• Proven ability to engage students, entrepreneurs, and senior stakeholders, build effective

working relationship and connect individuals from various international organisations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation skills, both oral and in

writing, and ability to present complex issues in English and German.

• Should be prepared to travel within relevant region and throughout Europe on a regular basis.
