  • General Purpose
As a Director Digital Strategy in adidas Global Digital you are accountable for high impact strategic initiatives of the Digital portfolio. Strategic initiatives are mainly derived from the digital strategy and change management plan. Your task is to turn these initiatives into actionable reality through orchestrating the delivery of the end-to-end landscape of Global Digital. This includes leading alignment across the Global Digital stakeholder network and driving a wider transformation of the company towards a more digital culture and mindset.
  • Key Responsibilities
Scope: Accountable for orchestration of critical initiatives to deliver against strategic goals for the next 6-24 months
  • Strategy Creation
  • Contribute to shaping the overarching Digital Strategic planning framework, evolving and planning the core levers to achieve brand and sales objectives for the next 6-24 months.
  • Identify commercial, strategic and innovation ‘big bets’ by collaborating closely with various Digital teams and reviewing research insights and latest business developments. Feed these into the strategic planning process for the coming year.
  • Drive the positioning of digital within the group’s wider strategic direction and priorities.
  • Contribute to identifying strategic innovation opportunities and propose possible ways to capitalize on them.
  • Strategy Execution
  • Drive the realization of the yearly Strategic planning framework that relates back to the corporate strategy and channels resource investment of the digital organization.
  • Drive business development activities such as identification and prioritization of opportunities.
  • Support direct program management for cross-functional initiatives in leading towards business goals. Drive for results and monitor progress in achieving goals.
  • Monitor the performance of strategic initiatives within your scope of responsibility. Identify deviations from targets and drive necessary changes.
  • Change Management
  • Enable strategy execution by developing and spearheading key change initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes implemented. Provide formal, continuous communication with leadership stakeholders and Global Digital community on success metrics.
  • Evolve existing frameworks based on learnings during implementation.
  • Communication
  • Develop key strategy updates for internal and external audiences, tailoring content and messaging by audience.
  • Build a narrative around our strategic priorities and how they help to achieve our goals in digital.
  • Support SLT and the Digital Strategy Lead on landing this narrative at key milestones and meetings.
  • Manage community engagement through internal collaboration tools.
  • Support ongoing communication by preparing regular huddles and celebrating success stories in collaboration with key Global Digital stakeholders.
  • Support in the validation of external communication stories.

  • Education & Experience
  • Ideally Master’s degree with focus on Business Administration, Communication or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6-8 years of in-depth experience related to strategic projects management or similar topics
  • 6+ years of professional experience in the digital ecosystem environment
  • Experience in Finance is a plus
  • Experience working with stakeholders at various seniority levels as well as subject matter experts across various functions (Developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team
  • Soft-Skills
  • Very good communication skills, especially when interacting with different levels of business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and untangle complex situations into actionable activities
  • Distinctive strategic mindset and ability to prioritize and delegate high numbers of tasks with varying workload and importance
  • Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Highly developed leadership skills are required

  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required
  • In-depth understanding of IT is required
  • Fluent English both verbally and written
