THE POSITION


As Device Technology Leader you lead the development of technology platforms and technical innovations for the application of liquid drugs. You combine a strong background in engineering with patient centricity to develop cutting-edge technologies in the context of digital health. Join our team. Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role you lead the technical development of early innovative technology platforms and technical innovations for the application of liquid drugs - based on a deep understanding of "User Needs and Value Drivers", if necessary in collaboration with BD&L, GIAM and / or Development Sciences.
  • Utilizing your expertise, you manage technology scouting activities and matrix teams for the selection of innovative technology platforms and preparation of the regulated development under design control according CFR 820.30.
  • You build-up and maintain internal and external networks with platform providers, universities, relevant internal research and development departments, with the aim of identifying innovative development trends to generate market overviews.
  • As Device Technology Lead you are the contact person for device technology platforms for internal and external interest groups (e.g. TA leads, authorities, suppliers), the evaluation of the "strategic fits" for the drug portfolio and, if necessary, the consistent further development activities.
  • You drive the technological leap to develop electromechanical and software-driven devices in the context of digital health (as part of digital therapy ecosystems to increase therapy success).
  • In addition, you are able to navigate effectively in a complex, highly scientific and matrix-oriented organization of product development, including external partners.


Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD), master’s degree (e.g. MBA) or diploma degree with major focus in an engineering related discipline with long-term industry experience in the technical device development with focus on early development phases (design thinking)
  • Experiences in context of electronical device development and/or development digital health applications is a plus
  • Broad expertise around regulatory requirements for parenteral combination products is preferred (mainly 21 CFR parts 4 & 820, ISO 62304, 14971 & IEC 62366)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and general design considerations for devices is a plus
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Technical writing and documentation competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
