RESPONSIBILITIES

With its xarvio (TM) product portfolio the BASF Digital Farming GmbH enables farmers to improve and automate agriculture by using data such as smart sensors, advanced models, and artificial intelligence.

You will design, implement and operationalize batch as well as real-time data processing pipelines and systems in the AWS cloud that push the boundaries of extracting customer as well as business insights from our data.
Furthermore, you will identify areas for process improvements and simplification including automation, server-less computing, scalable architectures as well as component re-use.
You will take active ownership and operational responsibility in the quality as well as scale of end-to-end data platform solutions by adoption of standard methodologies in continuous integration and delivery, automated testing, Infrastructure-as-Code.
In agile teams you will work together with stakeholders including the product, data and design teams building features end-to-end, resolving technical issues, or providing data mentorship.
Finally, you will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively including giving and receiving candid feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS

degree in computer science or a related field with at least two years of work history or comparable work experience with strong emphasis on data pipelining, processing and automation
proficient in SQL and strive to write maintainable code in at least one major programming language like Java, Python, C/C++ or Scala
hands on experience in designing and developing in the AWS cloud (S3, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, Kinesis) as well as new technologies
experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, CDK, Terraform) and container technologies as well as understanding of software and data testing methodologies
strong oral and verbal communication skills in English to partner with data scientists and engineering stakeholders effectively
