Job Purpose


This role will be responsible for marketing activities in the cluster, overseeing a team consisting of marketing, customer excellence and digital to develop a roadmap for the cluster, aligning to regional and global strategic direction while also generating locally beneficial initiatives that support customers, patients, and deliver on KKI’s objectives in the cluster. As part of developing this roadmap, high value and strategically important tactics should be curated and delivered efficiently to the highest standards, abiding strictly by KKI SOPs for compliance, considering opportunities and risk within EMEA region, to drive the success of the brand for the welfare of patients. The role will represent marketing leadership and coordination for both products in each of their therapy areas and is accountable for commercial strategy and coordinated execution with affiliates and commercial partners. This is a forward-looking role, focused on developing the strategic vision of the whole cluster, and acting to deliver on this vision by working cross functionally with the other department leads within the Cluster (especially with Medical, Field leaders, Access teams, Digital / Omni-channel teams, Marketing teams in other geographies / regionally / globally, and the Cluster General Manager).


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Franchise teams and brand franchise teams to apply regional and global strategies within the specific market context of the countries of the cluster.
  • Oversee a team of marketers, customer excellence managers and the digital director to develop and operationalise a roadmap that delivers on the strategic intention of global brands in the Rare Disease and Haemato-Oncology Therapy Areas
  • Align the cluster’s cross-functional team to the vision of the Franchise, seamlessly engaging with regional and global franchise teams to deliver this vision.
  • Supporting the Cluster General Manager with key operational activities relating to the health of the commercial business of the cluster (e.g., forecast models, S&OP processes, budget management, insights generation, data inquiries, external stakeholder engagement, brand planning)
  • Partner with the cluster cross-functional team, to ensure co-creation, optimisation and implementation of commercial project plans and strategies, while also considering the medical context of the brand strategy,
  • Partnering with Medical Affairs to plan and implement medical communications and educational activities.
  • Partnering with Access teams to ensuring commercial plans are aligned with, and support access strategies relating to the pricing and reimbursement opportunities and challenges for these products. Co-accountable, with the Access team, for local country pricing, reimbursement, and discounting
  • Partnering with field teams to ensure execution of commercial objectives in practical terms.
  • Delegate and own co-ordination of key commercial activities (e.g., international conferences, digital strategy, core campaigns, patient identification programmes, patient support, etc.)
  • Strategic input into regional Access, Commercial, and medical strategy, and processes, including lifecycle management initiatives, portfolio, and BD&L decisions, as part of Cluster leadership team
  • Communicate broadly, at a senior level, franchise/cluster current strategy, innovative ideas for future strategy, franchise project status and potential risks.
  • Identify capability needs in the commercial business by working together with the General Manager, the Patient Journey Director (our field leadership role), and the medical leadership, identifying specific interventions lead capability development initiatives across the cluster cross-functional team together with other geographies (e.g., Competitive wargames, digital 2.0, value negotiations)
  • Demonstrate an omni-channel mindset in all cross-functional plans, including acting as an advocate for a digital-first mindset in their teams.
  • Oversee execution of brand strategy related key initiatives and lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure success of both the marketing elements of the brand strategy, as well as elements driven by other functions within the business (Access, Medical, etc)
  • Defines Key Performance Indicators for the cluster and contributes to ongoing reporting and achievement of metrics by proactively analysing business problems / the competitive horizon, identify key issues and then recommend solutions to address.
  • Continuously identify best practices to share and learn across the region in relevant forums and connect stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Global functional teams to ensure sharing of Commercial best practices and key learnings.
  • Lead any cluster commercial launches, including taking accountability for:
    • Coordinating shared ambition and mindset for launch readiness across the organization consistent with the global commercial strategy for both products
    • Contributing to work across KHK group and KKI companies to develop launch models and ensure the launch is supported by appropriate resources to optimise results and outcomes for KKI (profit, revenue), customers, and patients.
    • Developing fit for purpose launch strategy and support operational execution by leading and coordinating cross-functional launch team.
    • Development of a robust understanding of key treatment centres, key customers, and patient flow to inform commercial model design and build.
    • Fostering relationships with key opinion leaders in alignment with country teams
    • Leading cluster launch meetings
  • Lead implementation of KKI’s EMEA growth strategy and ongoing development in the cluster
    • Lead pull-through of global brand strategy to the cluster including leading cluster brand planning, tactical planning, and budget process.
    • Proactively communicate issues or challenges and work to remove barriers to success.
    • Identify and resolve cross-functional conflict to ensure the best interests of developing a Global Specialty Pharmaceutical (GSP) company are met.
    • Develop risk reduction and launch optimisation strategies identified from competition, environment changes (i.e., Payer) and the variability across the cluster relating to the product.
    • Develop and manage the cluster budget for marketing together with the Marketing Team and oversee support function accountability to budget.
    • Leads business reviews for the ongoing health of the cluster’s Commercial business.
  • Support the General Manager in the design and implementation for ongoing evolution of the current Commercial organisation delivering a team with efficiency and quality of execution within the cluster.
  • Brings KOL and HCP engagement strategy to practical effect through collaboration with Medical.
  • Ensures all activities and projects are carried out in compliance with the relevant laws, code(s), and guidelines.
  • To be aware of Kyowa Kirin Group Code of Conduct and associated policies and procedures and other applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Comply with the Kyowa Kirin competences, in terms of expected values and behaviours, in addition to Kyowa Kirin’s HR policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensures all activities are carried out within the framework of pharmaceutical regulations, strategy, and the company’s quality policy. Follows the promotional information charter and applies it according to the terms of any certification reference framework in force. Applies Kyowa Kirin’s processes which consider the regulations in force (promotional information charter, advertising, anti-gift law, transparency, pharmacovigilance, GDPR, etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Degree in life sciences or marketing
  • Rare disease or Haemato-Oncology background preferred.
  • Marketing/brand management experience in a pharmaceutical context required, ideally in an EU context.
  • Strong and proven project management skills and experience of working in a matrix environment.
  • Preferably both big and mid-sized pharmaceutical experience
  • Successful launch and commercial experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of pricing and market access processes
  • Excellent local language required; good English preferred.
