We are looking for a Global Category Sourcing Manager, MRO & Assetsto join our Metso Outotec Indirect Procurement (IPRO) & Procurement Excellence organization. The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain strategic procurement processes as well as respective tools, policies, rules, guidelines. The aim is to enable Metso Outotec Procurement organization to meet its business targets and act in an efficient and sustainable manner.

In your role you will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Sourcing:
  • Develops, communicates, and ensures execution of category sourcing strategies and plans
  • Responsible for driving global MRO & Assets cost management and supplier management in cross functional and cross Business Area (BA) teams
  • Ensures leverage of synergies across BAs and categories
  • Take initiatives to drive category savings, develop roadmaps, improve supplier performance and KPIs
  • Understands market trends in said industry and benchmarks against other industries / solutions
  • Ensures category policies and guidelines are updated, approved and support strategy
  • Business Relationships & Stakeholder management:
  • Establishes category team, management, and review practices. Ensures business and relevant functions are involved in the category work.
  • Leads, coaches, involves, and develops sourcing category team members, ensuring proper level of training
  • Understands business requirements; manages stakeholders and their expectations and chairs category meetings. Ensures regular executive steering for category.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of indirect Procurement KPIs
  • Partner with key stakeholders to design, develop and implement an indirect category strategy
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Owns supplier relationships for Key Suppliers and negotiates contracts, T&C and price lists
  • Bundles volumes, negotiates agreements, develops supplier base, and looks for BCC alternatives
  • Maintains and follows-up supplier risk assessment, manages supplier risk incl. 2nd source strategies
  • Ensures supplier development and roadmap planning in category
  • Manages severe and chronic supplier issues
  • Lead contract negotiations and develop comprehensive project plans that address all hurdles to project implementation
  • Develop new sources of supply for your procurement category
  • Lead category governance, comprising of both suppliers and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of the IPRO organization

As our ideal candidate:

  • You have at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent and 5 to 10 years relevant experience
  • You have a proven track record in performance and experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Be successfully able to work with others in a matrix and global environment and can navigate the business and political environment.
  • You have a deep understanding of Strategic Procurement’s role and impact to business
  • You are self-directed and able to work independently and have very good teamwork skills
  • You are able to facilitate critical meetings and drive consensus.
  • Fluent in English
