In this position you will implement the pallet strategy by directly engaging existing and new IFCO customers and supporting the IFCO country teams. You are in charge of the new processes and how to sell the pallets to customers.

Key responsibilities:
  • You work directly with IFCO’s country teams to increase their knowledge of pallets and how to sell in the right benefits and features that will make the difference to our customers
  • You build relationships and rapport with customers to win business, by analysing their supply chains and identifying points of waste/cost and showing IFCO products as effective solutions
  • You undertake business analysis on the opportunities, spotting retailer/category gaps in the market for IFCO to address
  • You provide information e.g. pricing, risk, volumes, for upcoming tenders/proposals for renewals and new business
  • You understand the set-up of our customers’ supply chain now and in the future, helping IFCO to stay one step ahead
  • You will be an ambassador of IFCO, and its circular economy business model, exploring every opportunity to take out one trip packaging
  • You pursue customer opportunities
  • You work autonomously in a matrix environment while having limited access to immediate manager
  • You understand customer requirements, accurately interpret underlying needs, buying behaviour, change drivers, influencers and direction.
  • You extract and define key drivers to customer’s decision making process
  • You deliver annual budgeted revenue and/or EBITDA of the launched new market verticals/applications
  • You develop strong business relationships across all levels of the business
We expect:
  • You have worked in a pallet pooling company in the area of sales
  • You gained at least more than 5 years of experience in the pallets industry
  • You have proven commercial experience in building relationships, selling products and price negotiations with retail and/or suppliers
  • You show a good understanding in food retail and logistics for both retailers and their suppliers
  • You have a strong drive for results with an ability to make things happen through building good relationships and having clear and concise communication
  • You hold a University Degree or comparable education (preferable in logistics, sales or purchasing)
  • You have an operational focus as well as a strategic outlook
  • You gained international experience in dealing with various business cultures and managing the complexity of several markets.
  • You have an advanced understanding of evaluating quantitative aspects of key variables (packaging, shipping, shrink, labor, etc.)
  • You are strong in communicating in German and English, other languages are desirable (Spanish)
  • You have a positive, competitive and confident personality with strongly developed persuasive and collaborative skills
  • You have advanced project management skills, efficient organizational abilities to meet timeframe deadlines
  • You have strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills – both written & oral.
