Job AdvertisementLeibniz-HKI-50/2022The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute - (Leibniz-HKI, www.leibniz-hki.de) investigates the pathobiology of human-pathogenic fungi and identifies targets for the development of novel natural product-based antibiotics.The department of Infection Immunology studies the regulation of human T cells in health and disease. We invite talented and highly gifted candidates to apply asBioinformatician / Computational Biologist / Systems Immunologist (f/div/m)for 2 years initially with the possibility of a permanent position.Research Area:Regulation of the human immune system in response to infections, cancer and autoimmunity with single-cell RNAseq analysis.Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree (or postgraduate degree MSc) in a computational discipline, preferably with significant experience in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology (R/Bioconductor and Python) or in immunology with significant experience in high-dimensional data analysis (flow cytometry, scRNAseq)
  • Experience with the analysis of mRNA transcriptomic data sets, preferably also with single-cell RNAseq data analysis pipelines
  • Very good programming skills in R/Bioconductor and/or Python
  • Experience in immunology is a plus
  • Ability to perform team-oriented as well as independent work
  • Good communication and writing skills in English
  • High motivation for research
