Driving the core product assortment, the commercial team lay at the heart of the service. Understanding what the customer wants and needs, analysing the market, negotiating contracts and growing the business. This department can be very fast-paced and requires candidates who are self-motivated.
Overview:
We are looking for a Team Lead Marketplace for our German market. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketplace & Insights and as an early member of the team, you have one of the most consequential roles in making sure Gorillas delivers on its promise to the customer.
Your responsibilities:
- Build up, lead and develop a first in class team overseeing all e-commerce functions of the market
- Own the commercial promotion strategy of the country, source interesting collaborations with the buying team and align with the different marketing teams for communication on product or supplier promotion actions
- Oversee the country’s pricing strategy, from initial price point setting to designing, implementing and calibrating related tools
- Decide how products are merchandised on the app optimizing for both revenue and customer experience
- Work closely with the commercial & marketplace analytics teams to develop the frameworks and processes improving our customer-facing offerings, while making sure that the strategic objectives are met
- Proactively find areas of improvement, be innovative in seeking the best solution, execute in a timely and considered manner. Build analysis and insights to better understand what developments and improvements need to be made to our marketplace in order to deliver the winning customer proposition
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in a fast - paced environment (top - tier consulting, fast - growing tech start - up) ideally in an e - commerce, strategy, growth, or commercial function.
- 1+ years of experience leading a team
- Strong project management, organizational and stakeholder management skills. Able to build a network across the organisation to influence and easily align between multiple departments
- Relentless focus on the customer and desire to understand their current & future needs
- Strong analytical skills – interpreting multiple data sets to understand what might be driving a specific problem or seize an opportunity an display it in a visually compelling manner
- Have a track record of getting things done and a willingness to get knees deep in execution
- Identifying areas of improvement, generating ideas, scoping and refining customer propositions and building a business case around it
- Proficiency in English and German
