Tasks

For this new world of Software Defined Automation, we build a team that masters both Cloud as well as real-time shop floor operations technology. Join our team with your high energy driven nature, interest in industrial manufacturing and motivation to push the boundaries from the cloud all the way to all moving things on the shop floor!

Responsibilities

At SDA, we are hiring Senior AWS Operations Engineers to operate our production environment – from planning to implementing security and reliability.

  • Operate in production a multi-tenant SaaS application built on AWS
  • Plan and implement backup and disaster recovery processes based on our RTO and RPO
  • Develop, run and maintain security runbooks, monitoring, logging and auditing
  • Develop, run and maintain reliability runbooks, monitoring, logging and auditing
  • Make sure we honor our SLA for our customers
  • Build and maintain tools to automate remediations of issues
Requirements

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree with strong information technology focus
  • Experience in operating production-grade software stacks in the cloud
  • Experience working with scripting languages to automate routine tasks
  • Experience with performance and log analysis
  • Experience with AWS security and monitoring service (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, WAF, IAM, Guard Duty, KMS etc.)
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree with
strong information technology focus
  • Experience in operating a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution in
production
  • Knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Framework, mainly
Operational Excellence, Security and Reliability pillars
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with 3rd party SIM and
monitoring solutions (Datadog, Splunk, Sumo Logic)
  • Good understanding of virtualization and containerization
technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
