My duties

  • Lead the work of the accounting team consisting of 6 people as of now
  • Direct and participate in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Assist the development and implementation of goals and policies relating to financial management and accounting
  • Lead the implementation and ensure proper financial statement controls are maintained
  • Manage communication with external auditors
  • Ensure that processes are continuously reviewed and aligned with best practices
  • Partner with other Finance Teams for the implementation of HGB / IFRS accounting changes

My qualifications

  • Relevant accounting experience, preferably within a public accounting firm or multinational company. Experience in a start-up environment or with a Tech company is a plus
  • Exceptional technical knowledge of accounting and external reporting standards, especially HGB and IFRS accounting regulations. Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
  • Experience building an Accounting organization in a scalable way; you have developed teams, optimized and scaled processes and solutions while dealing with complex accounting issues
  • Excellent people and communication skills, tolerance for ambiguity, and the enthusiasm to contribute to building a great company
  • University degree with a business background
  • Working experience with DATEV
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
