The task is to set up and develop a new area of research “Economics of IT Security” in close co-operation with members of the CEIT and also with our experts in the field of IT security at the Ruhr-University Bochum, especially those from the Horst-Görtz-Institute (HGI). The position will offer you enough space to develop your own research profile. The theme IT security is to be conducted from an economic perspective with special emphasis on the security of critical infrastructure. In addition to doing research, you are required to create and develop cooperation networks between the various parties and also to acquire third-party funding.

Requirements:
Applicants must hold a doctorate in either Economics, Business Informatics or a related field and be willing to conduct research with a clear economic focus. We expect excellent knowledge of German and English, good communication skills and also the ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international team. A further requirement is a high level of self-initiative along with good organizational skills. Expertise in the field of „Economics of IT Security” is not necessary, but would of course be seen as an advantage.

Teaching commitment will be calculated according to §3 of the “Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung” (state of North Rhine-Westphalia).
