We are a boutique business consultancy for ScaleUps at any stage, based in Bochum, Germany. Since January 2019, we have grown to a team of over 15 employees with the experience of over 100 clients*. As a company in the startup industry, we are currently working with inspiring founders and exciting, diverse organizations.

Our holistic consulting approach focuses on pragmatic implementation to make companies scalable: We create solid, agile structures and processes for our dynamic clients*. We develop investor reporting, business plans, mentoring, and fundraising tools and support financing rounds. Our mission is always: From founders for founders.

Tasks

The M&A department is responsible for all of Nugrow´s M&A transactions. This includes acquisitions, sales and joint ventures. In this function, we support several Start-ups in the successful implementation of M&A projects from the initial planning phase to the completion of the transaction. As part of the Finance & Controlling department, the financial analyst reports to you and you will support them in implementing the corporate strategy. We are looking for an experienced Manager Mergers & Acquisitions to strengthen our M&A team.

The following tasks and responsibilities await you in detail:
  • Analysis and evaluation of potential acquisition targets as well as of group business areas considered for sale
  • Advice and support for the management of business units in the planning and implementation of acquisitions and divestments as well as joint ventures
  • Management and coordination of M&A processes involving the internal specialist departments of the Nugrow and external consultants
  • Preparation of company valuations, financial models and analyzes of the financial impact of planned M&A transactions
  • Management and coordination of due diligence and evaluation of its results
  • Creation of presentations and decision templates for the management
  • Participation in the development of the strategy of the Nugrow
  • Observation and evaluation of transactions in the competitive environment

Requirements
  • You have a degree, ideally with a business orientation.
  • Several years of professional experience in M&A or related areas, e.g. in investment banking, M&A consulting, corporate M&A or financial due diligence in an auditing firm
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in project management and ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Profound negotiation skills
  • You have strong analytical skills and manage to keep an eye on details without losing the bigger picture.
  • Ideally, you have already gained experience in the start-up industry.
