Shift Technician / Datacentre / Engineer / Critical Environment / Mechanical & Electrical

Currently recruiting for a leading blue-chip client with a global presence who are looking to hire a shift technician to join their expanding team. Looking for a candidate who is comfortable working on a shift pattern and has experience working with either mechanical or electrical systems with ideally exposure to working within a critical environment.

Responsibilities / Skills

• Operation of all critical facility systems across the site. Areas include Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, Fire, and Controls.

• Monitor the Facilities Operations Centre and ensure that all monitoring System alarms are responded to in a timely manner.

• Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in critical facility systems

• A fully verifiable trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline and verifiable additional training that is relevant to the proposed environment.

Previous data centre (or similar lab) experience - desirable

• Experience with the mechanical and electrical systems, such as:, Fuel Systems, UPS systems, Chillers, Fire Alarm systems, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear or similar

• Review subcontractor method statements and risk assessments to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures prior to you or your shift team issuing permits to work.

• Carry out Vendor inspections during your shift, checking/monitoring quality of work, review data/service reports to include all break/fix, P.M.’s and project work on site.
