Our client is a listed German company with a strong focus on chemicals. This largest business unit in the company is a leader in today’s markets and is shaping tomorrow’s markets with its products. Due to the structural realignment of the business unit’s organization, we are currently looking for a "Head of Operations Europe". The Head of Operations in Europe is responsible for a defined group of technologies to oversee, manage and improve more than 15 production sites in different countries in Europe. In this way, he supports the company’s organic sales growth and return on sales. The role is part of the European Operations & Supply Chain organization and works closely with the Global Supply Chain organization for Technologies.

Aufgaben
  • Manage and develop European manufacturing sites to achieve business and financial objectives
  • Establish a customer-centric mindset
  • Direct reporting line to the vice president of operations & supply chain Europe
  • Direct leadership of 10-15 site managers across multiple countries in the region)
  • Active member of the European Ops & SC leadership team consisting of 7 colleagues responsible for manufacturing facilities, 3PM, engineering, lean and projects.
  • Lead site management review processes, establish and improve KPIs
  • Drive cost savings and capacity alignment projects
  • Manage capital expenditures and maintenance budgets
  • Implement and monitor the SHEQ and CI culture at the sites
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the operational footprint strategy
  • Assess current talent base, recruit and hire new talent, and develop a robust talent pipeline for long-term succession planning across the operations and supply chain organization
Qualifikation
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Fluency in English. Other languages (German or Spanish) are a definite plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively more senior roles in Operations and Supply Chain within the chemical industry
  • Track record of progressive growth and promotion within a global corporation
  • Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of manufacturing excellence, logistics, customer service and project management
  • Outstanding leadership, strategic, organizational and teamwork skills
  • Candidate should be capable of growing into larger leadership roles over time located across the globe
  • Ability to develop effective professional relationships, especially in a virtual environment
