A vacancy for a “Flight Dynamics Engineer (d/f/m)" has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

The successful applicant will join „Flight Dynamics Manching”.

Tasks:

Organize and lead all flight dynamic simulation activities required to answer program Eurofighter, Tornado, FCAS, Eurodrone and future projects needs during the full product life cycle.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop new flight mechanics models, vehicle simulation and tools for handling qualities
  • Preparation of existing simulation models, check cases and input data
  • Analyze aircraft mission and point performance
  • Support of flight test campaigns
  • Analysis of flight test data
  • Significant interaction with interface disciplines such as aerodynamics, fuel/stores, system design, loads, safety, etc.
  • Maintenance and update of existing tools
  • Conduct Research and Technology activities and develop methods and tools in line with the engineering strategy to improve the vehicle simulation.
  • Performance of linear and non-linear simulations
  • Develop optimization algorithms for inverse optimization
  • Analysis aerodynamic data
  • Analysis of complex simulation results
  • Documentation and summary of the simulation results

Qualification:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Master´s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering/ Aircraft Design)
  • Experience in Aerodynamics;
  • C / C++;
  • Flight control System;
  • Flight mechanics;
  • Fortran;
  • Mass properties;
  • Matlab / Simulink;
  • Propulsion systems
  • Your are a teamplayer, have a passion for aerodynamics and have excellent communication skills
  • Fluent English, Advanced German
