The position
We are looking for a passionate Finance Manager (m/f/x) who can support our CFO across all functions of the finance department – from controlling to fundraising and internal as well as external reporting. In close collaboration with the CFO you will build the finance department from scratch. Together with the CFO you, as Finance Manager, will be responsible that finances are on point and on time throughout the year. This means that payments are made on time, tax return are duly filed, and monthly as well as yearly accounts are accurate. To achieve this, you will assess the current finance process landscape and consistently optimize it.

Your responsibilities

• You will be sparring partner for all employees related to finance matters.
• You will be responsible for maintaining adequate accounting systems and records, including, but not limited to, cash receipts, expenditures, investments, purchasing, inventory, assets etc.
• You will be supporting the yearly budgeting as well as the setup of an ongoing controlling process, monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
• You will develop processes and tools for financial and budgetary transparency throughout the organization.
• You will be managing and ongoingly optimizing our finance related processes as well as software.
• You will review all month-end reconciliations and take on operational responsibility in the monthly bookkeeping. You establish and optimize the process of the monthly closing with everyone involved in the company and with the tax advisor.
• You will supervise and support the year end closing and preparation of statutory accounts.

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant working experience in finance and understanding of accounting principles.
• You are self-driven, results-oriented, and enjoy working independently you take being a role model seriously, always display a positive attitude and you are a real team player.
• You are curious and open to continuous change and actively seek improvements in your area of responsibility.
• You know your way around numbers.
• Leverage your expertise and previous experiences to constantly seek out better ways of performing processes and contribute to process excellence initiatives.
• You are highly analytical and have strong conceptual skills.
• Advance skills in PowerPoint and Excel is a must.
• Experience with establishing finance and controlling processes is a plus.
• Team-play-spirit and efficient self-time management.
• Passionate about food, health, nutrition and sustainability.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Experience in a science and/or start-up environment is a bonus.
