Celle Technology Center is a major development and manufacturing location for Baker Hughes. New products for harsh downhole environments are developed and manufactured here. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team developing downhole tools to characterize rock properties. You will design electronics for measurement systems that deliver high precision measurements to our customers even in challenging high temperature environments.

As an Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design (m/f/d), you will be responsible for:

  • Designing of high temperature analog, digital and power electronics systems
  • Working on SPICE Simulation of electronic circuits
  • Testing and characterization of electronic circuits under high temperature and vibration
  • Developing of test systems including hardware and software
  • Qualifying of electronic components for high temperature applications
  • Supporting of the PCB layout
  • Working with modern lab equipment for RF applications like network, spectrum, and impedance analyzer
  • Presenting of results in design reviews as part of the technology development process and preparation of design documentation

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have above average M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant Engineering or Physics discipline
  • Demonstrate designing of high precision analog and digital electronics covering the entire signal chain
  • Have experience with signal conditioning, integrity and error modeling
  • Show knowledge of low noise design techniques including filters, grounding and shielding practices, power system noise analysis
  • Demonstrate experience in measurement systems comprising RF transmitters and receivers
  • Have prior experience in power system modeling & design for linear and switching supplies, inverters, AC/DC converters is beneficial
  • Have good knowledge of packaging technologies for electronic components and sensors for extreme environments
  • Demonstrate good understanding of modeling and simulation using Spice based simulators (SIMetrix ), MATLAB/Simulink and similar tools
  • Display good communication skills with internal and external suppliers and customers
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal English skills, good presentation and writing skills
