Your future team

• The Data Science Team is part of the Business intelligence department at Holidu and has the clear mandate of turning data into value for the Company.
• You will be part of the data science team, made up of other experienced and passionate data scientists, that is in charge of using Machine Learning and statistical models to improve the Holidu website for our user as well as to deliver business critical model for the internal use of the company. The data science team is working closely together the Analytics team and the Data Engineering team, and is planned to double in headcount in the next year.
• On the user facing side the Data science team is continuously improving the Ranking of the website in order to make it more adaptable to the ever shifting changes in the accommodation industry while at the same time make it more personalized for our users. Moreover Machine learning models are used to personalize the experience of the user through, among others, filters recommendations.
• Machine Learning and Statistical models are also used internally to understand property churn, user and property lifetime value, probability to cancel a reservation, value of keywords for performance marketing.

Our Tech Stack

• Flexible data science environment (Python, Jupyter, Spark, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Java, Scala).
• Our data pipelines are developed in house by a team of data engineers with Kafka, Redis, Flink, DynamoDB, Redshift and ElasticSearch.
• Data storage with Redshift and S3.
• Heavy usage of AWS and Git.
• Search engine runs on Elasticsearch.
• Data dashboarding and visualization is done with Looker.

Your role in this journey

• You will work in a squad-based organisation with your team of data scientists and alongside backend developers. Together, you are responsible for delivering an unbeatable product that offers the best possible experience to our users.
• You will be part of the team which is fully responsible for developing and improving our machine learning strategy company wide.
• You will have the freedom to implement your own ideas on how to improve and develop our products further.
• You will make use of our large datasets to create valuable models that will be used by millions of users.
• You will be responsible for intelligently utilizing our data to optimize conversion.
• You will constantly conceive and bring models into production, monitor them and iterate upon your observations to improve their performance.

Your backpack is filled with

• A degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• Tools like Pandas, scikit-learn, SQL are second nature to you.
• You are passionate about your work and love to collaborate with others.

• Professional experience as Data Scientist in tackling business challenges using Data Science and Machine Learning.
