Data Engineer (m/w/d)

Duration: from September 2021 till March 2023

Location: Wuppertal (50% onsite with end of corona-related restrictions, rest remote)

Workload: 100 %

Major Tasks
  • You will typically be part of an agile project team to develop tailor-made digital tools hand-in-hand with our business function (production, quality, engineering)
  • You will design and build python-based data pipelines and frontends to support data science projects following software engineering best practices and use state-of-the art technologies to acquire, ingest and transform big datasets
  • You will map data fields to hypotheses, curate, wrangle and prepare data to be used in advanced analytics models or dashboards
  • You will create and manage data environments in the cloud according to corporate standards
Skills
  • Several years hands-on experience in building data pipelines in production with proven ability to write clean, maintainable and robust code in Python (preferred), Scala, Java or similar languages in a professional setting
  • Several years hands-on experience in building tailored frontends (UI/UX), e.g. Plotly/Dash
  • Expertise in software engineering concepts and best practices and ability to work across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • very good knowledge of English, German is a plus
Nice To Have
  • Exposure to DevOps, DataOps and MLOps would be considered a plus
