Responsibilities
  • Promote and protect Tesla’s reputation as a cutting-edge company producing the world’s most exciting cars and shifting the paradigm of personal transportation worldwide.
  • Manage multiple construction projects through design, build and qualification.
  • Adjustment and continuation of the SiGe plan according to BaustellV/RAB including general site regulations.
  • Provide field safety oversight of work activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Lead and document accident/incident investigations to determine root cause, prevention and corrective measures.
  • Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs.
  • Participate in and contribute to project planning and hazard analysis.
  • Perform frequent combined safety and environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and have the skills, knowledge and ability to take immediate corrective action if required.
  • Review equipment design to ensure equipment and tooling adheres to ANSI, ISO, OSHA equipment, and German legal requirements.
  • Provide continuous support to Engineering staff from concept to design to SOP
  • Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) to ensure manufacturers have incorporated applicable ANSI and OSHA CE Standards standards into the equipment.
  • Perform (SAT) Site acceptance testing, to insure equipment is safe for operation.
  • Conduct safety functionality testing on newly installed or modified equipment to ensure the safety control devices perform as intended by the safety logic.
  • Provide Safety designs and concepts for new/legacy equipment that adapt to factory needs.
  • Perform Safety Audits to insure machinery is operated as designed and all safety devices are functioning as intended.
  • Perform risk assessment on production lines and equipment according to machinery safety standards.
  • Follow technological improvements and provide counseling on machinery safety
  • Manage change requests on safety systems and devices for existing equipment
  • Practice and maintain strong communication between all organizations
  • Designing safe work spaces and creating policies for employees to follow that minimize job-related hazards.
  • Review existing Tesla standards and improve according to current trends & needs

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline; or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
  • SiGeKo (Site Construction Specialist/ Safety Coordinator) Certificate
  • Multiple years of hands-on experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (Automotive, machine integration, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.).
  • Experience in working with numerous city, county, state, and federal permitting authorities.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment, international working environment.
  • Background in high voltage power generation, heavy civil, wastewater, manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of relevant BG, DGUV, OSHA, ISO, ANSI codes.
  • Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results.
  • Fluent German and English.
