Starting from the 1st November 2021 searched for Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology to work at.
The position is limited to 2 years. With option of further extension.

NUM-Network of University Medicine on COVID-19 aims to bring together German university hospitals to bundle competencies and resources to implement infrastructures and workflow structures and processes in the clinics ensuring the best possible care for COVID-19 patients. The department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology is partner of RACOON (Radiological Cooperative Network zur COVID-19 Pandemie), which provides a federated imaging platform within the NUM. RACOON establishes a nationwide infrastructure as an end-to-end solution for radiological research, AI-training and biomarker development during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. The imaging platform provides image-based diagnosis, management and follow-up research.
- Maintenance of the local RACOON node in Heidelberg
- Expansion of the central research database, in particular integration of multicenter studies and research projects
- Digitization and automation of data-driven research projects
- Integration and evaluation of clinical data in research projects
- A university degree in medical informatics, computer science, mathematics, physics or engineering science (diploma/master´s degree) or equalivent is required
- The candidate should have a strong interest in medical imaging and experimental work
- An excellent mathematical knowledge base and experience in software engineering and development is a prerequisite
- Experience in server administration and database handling is required
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments is required
- Experience in developing and applying statistical, machine and/or deep learning-based computational methods to large datasets is desired
- Knowledge in programming languages and developer toolkits such as a Python, OpenCV, scikitlearn, PyTorch and / or PyDicom
