To strengthen our Purchasing department in our regional headquarter in Cologne we are searching a

Category Buyer Plastic Parts (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:

• Review and negotiate supplier terms and conditions, initiate and lead Value Analysis/ Value Engineering and benchmarking activities
• Use link and leverage opportunities with new sourcing potentials in new and existing projects in order to achieve overall cost reduction targets
• Lead supplier sourcing for new and existing business to achieve the overall cross functional targets and objectives along the Yazaki and OEM requirements
• Develop sub-commodity and supplier strategy
• Set-up preferred supplier lists for assigned commodity in Yazaki Europe Limited aligned with regional Central Functions and Business Units
• Optimize and monitor the supply base performance according to Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment to achieve overall targets and objectives
• Coordinate management reviews as well as roadmap reviews with key suppliers to improve overall performance
• Perform assigned commodity KPIs, overall contact management, e.g. NDA and process compliance

Your profile:

• Degree in business administration combined with technical background or skills, or equivalent Master- or Bachelor degree as a commercial/economical engineer
• Strong experience in senior purchasing management activities or equivalent professional record within the automotive industry
• Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding process and product cost structure; knowledge of rubber injection molding and product cost structure nice to have
• Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategies to manage purchasing tasks
• Ability to condense and present complex information to key personnel in meaningful reports and presentations
• Ability to view situations on both a large and small scale
• English & German written business fluent, French would be of advantage
• Willingness to travel (approx. 20%)
