Your role

As Team Lead Controlling and FP&A (f/m/d/x) in the DACH Finance team, you are instrumental in ensuring the continuation of our profitable growth story. You own the P&L and as such, you leverage your finance acumen to deliver high quality month end closings, create quarterly and long term business plans, drive rolling forecasts and provide top-notch analyses. Additionally, you work to generate process improvement across the cluster and serve as a key business partner to Marketing, Operations and Management. You are responsible for leading and managing a team of four Controllers and serve as a key point person for our auditors, our Team Lead Accounting, our Global Finance team, and our local domain and cluster leadership teams.

  • This role is available for a 24-month maternity cover contract.

Your area of responsibility

  • Lead, develop and manage a team of four Controllers / Financial Analysts. You bring a talented group of individuals together, ensure a productive, positive and challenging workspace, and help them level up through feedback, mentoring and imparting your technical know-how
  • Own the entire month end, quarterly, and year-end closing process as it relates to the P&L, inventory valuation and CAPEX for our German, Austrian and Swiss entities.
  • Consolidate and report the monthly variance analysis to local and Global C-level stakeholders, as well as provide any follow-up requests for analysis.
  • Coordinate, drive and execute the top to bottom financial forecasting process for DACH, ensuring we continuously develop and maintain best in class FP&A practices. We revise our budgets quarterly and plan on a three-year scope. Our main tools are DataBricks and Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Act as point person, alongside the Director Finance and Team Lead Accounting, in implementing large scale transformation projects within the Finance Domain
  • Own the weekly cost reporting landscape for the DACH business with a focus on constant development and improvement in our reporting accuracy and leanness
  • Act as Finance Business Partner to DACH management to bring transparency to past and future decision-making and ensure profit oriented action is taken
  • Create action frameworks with senior stakeholders to mitigate financial risk stemming from our operations; you don’t just report and analyse the figures, but make sure opportunities and threats are flagged to the relevant stakeholders
  • Conceptualise and execute the biannual OKR agenda for Finance alongside the Director of Finance and the Team Lead Accounting

Your profile

  • You have 5+ years of progressive Controlling experience, ideally within a matrix organisation
  • You have gained first people leadership experience within a diverse, multi-levelled team, ideally in a large scale, forward thinking, e-commerce or subscription business
  • You lead with compassion and understanding; you put people first and are committed to develop your team members’ capabilities and competencies
  • You have first experience in coaching performance to bring out the best in people, can think strategically around work prioritization & allocation amongst your team
  • You are highly fluent in P&Ls, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements and feel comfortable jumping into a new company’s books at high speed
  • You have solid experience in driving financial closings
  • You have solid fundamentals in inventory accounting
  • You have managed business partners before, including senior management positions
  • Translating operations into financial outcomes, then presenting them is fun for you
  • You have ideally gained first experience in production controlling and understand operational Finance as it relates to production / assembly processes
  • You have experience budgeting and business planning at large scale
  • You are ready to take responsibility and learn in a very fast paced environment...ambitious deadlines and projects motivate you
  • You hold yourself to a high standard of quality and value sparring/ feedback
  • You are organised and have the ability to help others organise their workflows
  • Ideally you have had touch points with SQL driven reporting
  • Ideally you are based in Berlin and speak German fluently
