The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of 6 months.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 9,5 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 12,00 € per hour.

Unser Profil

The Cutting Technology Department develops forward-looking solutions for the design, monitoring and control of demanding cutting processes such as milling, turning, broaching and drilling for the manufacture of complex products. In order to be able to produce efficiently and flexibly in the future with ever shorter development cycles, networking and adaptivity in process chains are often required. We work on this in an interdisciplinary team with more than 25 employees on the basis of a profound understanding of systems from the fundamentals of machining to the application in the customer’s production. Our competence profile covers all areas of holistic process development - from a broad understanding of materials and processes to the development of powerful simulations for mapping real cutting processes in virtual space and real-time monitoring and control in the production environment.

Ihr Profil

You...

• are currently studying an engineering science, a natural science or a comparable course of study in your Bachelor’s degree.
• are interested in analyzing sensor data from manufacturing processes (e.g. with Python).
• have experience with MS Office products (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
• have a good command of German and/or English, both written and spoken.
• ideally already have some programming experience with Python.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of research projects in the environment of manufacturing technology and data science
• Implementation of algorithms/organization of data in/with Python
• Solution-oriented processing of practical challenges
