The Industry Solutions group provides professional services that help Microsoft customers around the world get the best outcomes from their investments in the latest Microsoft cloud technologies. We focus on empowering customers on their digital journey, from envisioning new possibilities to delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes and a great customer experience.

A Security Architect in the Telco Industry Solutions team is responsible for delivering high quality architectural solutions and business outcomes based on the Microsoft Cloud/Edge. Combining deep knowledge of the telecoms industry and Microsoft Security Solutions and Offerings, these architects drive transformational results for both customers and Microsoft.

Security Architects partner with our account teams and are responsible for making the Microsoft security story real for our telecommunications customers as they adopt Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

The focus of the Security Architect is to ensure the solution is appropriately secured across the cloud functions and at the edge. The person shall be an expert in securing one or more of these categories;
  • Packet data solutions and how they are integrated with the cloud offerings and the cloud native architecture.
  • 5G infrastructure and applications, both Edge and central features
  • OSS/BSS systems and other management platforms
  • Azure cloud, Azure MEC, Azure services for Database integration, Application integration and other data integration functions
  • Telco and/or Azure for Operators Security concepts

Key Accountabilities Include
  • Support account teams in winning new customers to Make the Market with innovative Digital Transformation and Modernization projects.
  • Support deep customer security discussions to show how Microsoft security products and features can secure the platform for the customer, including regulatory compliance (security architecture)
  • Identify where customers need the help of professional services as they move to Azure and scope and estimate the effort needed
  • Strong leadership of security v-teams, driving high performance and collaboration between all parts of the Industry Solutions organisation and our customers
  • Drive Pre-Sales Excellence, ensure technical requirements map to solution scope and value proposition
  • Drive Quality outcomes by identifying delivery risks early in the pursuit and have mitigation plans in place ready for warm handoff to delivery teams

Qualifications
  • Proven success and expertise in architecting innovative security solutions primarily in a client-facing role
  • Deep security and telecoms knowledge
  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader
  • Executes recognized security architecture methods, processes, and tools
  • Technical background, with 8-10+ years of technology-related experience with specific focus on security and telecoms
  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent)
  • CISSP certified preferred
  • Microsoft AZ-500 and MS-500 certification preferred or equivalent AWS, GCP or OpenStack certification
