Job Summary

The Quality & Test Automation Engineer implements and performs suitable test automation for mobile, desktop and server components and test processes for projects. The role will identify software defects and inconsistencies in functionality against defined performance measures and to progress and verify their correction.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for all test related issues in a project: creating test strategies and implementing the necessary processes
• Performing all test automation tasks within our projects to ensure the quality of our software components: mobile apps, websites, background systems
• Programming of test scripts and support in the development and further development of an automation framework
• Support in planning, defining, and coordinating a continuous integration framework (for example, with Jenkins)
• To ensure automated testability of software components in close consultation with our developers
• Create test specifications, test the software and, in close cooperation with our developers, ensure the high-quality requirements.
• To test the software (automated and manually) and, in close cooperation with our developers, ensure the high-quality requirements.
• Prepare and update detailed test specifications for system tests for web- and mobile applications
• Release software deliveries including the associated documentation.
• Coordinate and document software deliveries.
• Receive error reports from our customers and pass them on to the development teams in an understandable form.
• Answer inquiries from our customers as part of the 3rd level support.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of user manuals and carry out evaluations (including support statistics).
• Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
  

Essential

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Fluent German language skills
• Good knowledge of the programming languages Java and JavaScript
• Experience in the field of software testing with appropriate automation and test tools, especially in the mobile sector (apps), e.g. Appium, Selenium, Jenkins, WebDriver
• Experience within a Product test or QA environment
• Experience of each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Effectiveness within previous role of ensuring software is released with a minimum of defects reaching the customer
• Ability to write good reports and general word processing skills (Word, Excel, Databases)
• Good day to day planning skills, co-ordination and control under pressure
• To work equally well on their own as well as within a team
• Good English language skills
  

Desirable

• Experience of either back office systems for public transport or app/web testing tools
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Use of Project Planning Tools and test supporting tools like JIRA and TestRail
  

Essential

Education and qualifications

• Degree in a software engineering discipline or relevant experience in software testing
  

Desirable

• ISTQB Foundation
• Degree / MSC in Engineering Discipline
