You enjoy technically complex product development and you like to shape actively the future of leading-edge system-on-chip (SoC) product families? Then we have a great opportunity for you. As a Principal Engineer for Memory Architecture in our Automotive Microcontroller development, you will act as key driver in the R&D team to promote novel SoC architectures from implementation concept throughout all development stages. With this position you will be entering our „technical ladder”: our career path for experts. You will be able to focus deeply on technology – while further pursuing your career. As you continually expand your expert knowledge, puzzle over matters and solve problems, you will position yourself as a thought leader – thus helping our products improve our world a bit more each day. In your new role you will:- Define a holistic embedded memory (volatile memory (SRAM, CAM, etc.) and non-volatile memory (Flash, RRAM, ROM and emerging memory technologies) architecture of our next high-performance microcontroller product generation with GHz Class CPUs, a rich set of accelerators and high-speed communication interfaces and significant amount of embedded memories
- Develop and define a FW/SW-, test-, safety-, security- and customer friendly memory architecture which fulfills the main KPIs power, are and timing/performance but also worries about all the various DfX aspects, esp. yield, safety, reliability, dependability, availability and security aspects and streamlines access to it for internal and external users and helps all IP owners to align from SoC level for this aspect
- Drive innovation regarding dependability and availability, security and advanced power saving techniques (e.g. various sleep modes, dual rail, power down) under automotive-specific boundary conditions
- Cooperate closely with expert teams such as platform lead architects, subsystem architects, IP owners, SW/FW development, design teams, test teams, central functions and other business lines within Infineon
- Consult line and project management and provide clear technical direction setting regarding lean development and cost-awareness
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related field
- At least 5+ years of experience as platform/SoC architect, or high-level memory design or concept engineer in the area of SoCs development
- Deep knowledge in memories (VM and NVM), digital design and generation for complex SoCs and platforms incl. memory bandwidth, interface considerations with respect to parameters like area, power performance
- Good understanding in state-of the art compute (CPUs, accelerators) subsystems, memories and memory hierarchies and general system understanding (e.g. busses, SoC interconnect)
- Basic knowledge in safety and security and implementation boundary conditions, preferably in sub-28nm CMOS or FinFet technologies incl. 3rdparty IP integration options
- Hands-on experience in product architecture documentation and requirements management
- Basic knowledge of implementation boundary conditions, preferably insub-28nm CMOS technologies incl. 3rd party IP integration options
- Functional Safety and Security experience is a plus (e.g. experience with development according to ISO26262 or IEC61508 and ISO21434)
- Ability to understand platform development trade-offs to negotiate with different stakeholders
- Profound technical leadership capabilities combined with strong communication skills
- The ability to work in cross-functional teams and a multi-cultural environment
- Fluent English communication; German is appreciated
- The term gender in the sense of the General Equal Treatment Act (GETA) or other national legislation refers to the biological assignment to a gender group. At Infineon we are proud to embrace (gender) diversity, including female, male and diverse.
