The Institute of Anatomy and Molecular Neurobiology at the University of Münster offers a fixed-term position in cellular neurosciences at the earliest opportunity, initially limited to 3 years, with the possibility of extension.

Our research focuses on molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and neurotransmission .

Activities And Responsibilities

We seek an interested and motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate the role of the synaptic organizer molecules neurexins and their defects in mutant mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders. Current projects analyze the crosstalk of neurexins with synaptic Ca2+ channels in vitro and in vivo.

Qualification profile

Suitable candidates will hold above-average university and PhD degrees in neuroscience or related subjects and have already shown a motivation for basic science as evidenced by a strong publication record. We expect relevant prior experience with electrophysiological and microscopic techniques to analyze synaptic function in brain slices or cultured neurons. Good English language skills (written and oral) and the willingness to cooperate and work in a team are an asset. Research associates contribute to the teaching obligations of the Institute according to qualifications and experience.
