Job Purpose and Impact

The Plant Controller will apply in depth knowledge to provide financial decision support and insight as the finance business partner to both management and operational teams for Cargill’s production site in Krefeld - the role implies being present in this location 3 days/week.

Operating out of our facility in Krefeld, you will work closely with various stakeholders such as Operations teams, Supply chain, Engineering and Technology, Local and Central Management to ensure results are timely, qualitative, analyzed and understood. You will provide essential partnership in the business decision process by providing continuous improvement of financial processes and support the business in their continuous search for productivity and efficiency improvements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide finance business partnership for management teams by understanding and supporting strategic business priorities, challenges and impacts within the assigned plants
  • Evaluate and measure relevant cost drivers to manage manufacturing costs and plant performance to drive value creation and preservation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business leadership and business teams
  • Foster continuous improvement in the finance team, challenge the status quo and play a leading role in increasing effectiveness and efficiency of our broader finance team
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our Shared Service organization
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Fluent in German & English, verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost drivers
  • Experience with variance analysis statistical tools
  • Experience in partnering with a business by turning financial information into meaningful insight
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to convey financial concepts and insight to both financial and non-financial audiences
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Curious, eager to learn and understand a complex business
