We have therefore created a brand new unit, New Food, where we work to face food production challenges with innovative solutions - read more about New Food here.We are a passionate team with a hands-on mentality, and we are looking for highly motivated Project Manager to join our journey for our locations in Büchen, Kitzingen, Sarstedt and München.You will participate on projects to industrialize the precision fermentation application and have exposure to a large range of technologies. As a member of a larger team dedicated to developing this application, you will lead a project execution team which is responsible for the successful and timely completion of the project while maintaining or increasing profitability of the contract.This position is GEA’s representative to the customer and will directly interface with the customer throughout all project phasesYour Responsibilities- Overall responsible for the execution of a project being involved through all phases of the project from the initial quotation phase right up to commissioning, handover and project close down
- Overall responsible for the financial performance and result of the project, ensuring the best outcome for GEA by creating and maintaining the detailed project budget and invoicing plan
- Managing projects according to the GEA Project Management Guidelines
- Coordinates activities of the project organization while being responsible for the project success and providing strong direction for a project team
- Responsible for ensuring a strong culture of ownership within the project team in meeting the project objectives
- Planning and maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress including the work breakdown schedules and activity lists of all project contributors and margin goals
- Responsible for completion of phase gate reviews and reporting of the development in the project to multiple stakeholders e.g. steering committee, customer
- Responsible for completion of projects according to scope, cost, quality and schedule – deliver project within budget
- Responsible for the customer management and satisfaction during the execution of the project
- Ensure that the site work is managed by the site manager and that H&S is implemented at all time. Attend client meetings on site to facilitate the commissioning of GEA supplied equipment and proving all the KPI’s.
- Responsible for Claim Management & Change order management
- Perform Risk Management to mitigate and minimize project risks
- Capture and evaluate Lessons Learned of a project
- Create Procurement plan with supply chain to schedule fabrication and component receipt to meet project schedule. Ultimately responsible for the RFQ process for installation, contractor selection, contractor management.
- Creates and maintains the project resource plan and communicates resource needs to relevant line managers
- Ensures project documentation and correspondence is stored on company servers according to GEA requirements
- Lead a team of project engineers without direct line reporting relation
- Must have 4-year degree in Engineering, (Mechanical, Chemical, Food Science or similar).
- Must have 4+ years of experience working in a project engineering or project management role.
- Understanding of process technology, preferable in hygienic food, dairy, brewing or beverage processing
- Must possess good English language communication skills both written & verbal. A second language is a plus
- Very good MS-Office skills
