We also embrace diversity by valuing the uniqueness of each individual and being committed to equal opportunities for all.
Your Tasks
Master Thesis: Process optimization at the smaller scale possible and its effects on emulsion structure and stability.
In the development of innovative products, understanding the interactions between process and formulation is crucial. We are looking for a passionate and talented student to investigate scale up of processes and the impact that scale has in the physical properties of the desired product. This is important when determining the critical parameters needed for transferability from small to large scale.
Your Tasks
- Utilise DOE (design of experiments) to optimise process parameters across different batch sizes
- Investigate influences of such processes by product characterization (including, but not limited to, appearance, sensory rheology, particle size, and image analysis)
- Assess technical feasibility of transferability from bench-top to pilot plant and production
- Use state of the art data analysis tools to identify linear and non-linear correlations to support strategic scale up
- Practical proof of design with complete hardware solution
During the development of this thesis, you will gain valuable insights into the work of an international cosmetics company and gain detailed knowledge in the field of process and product development in the cosmetics industry.
Your Profile
- Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Technology, Pharmacy, or a comparable Technical Field.
- High communication skills, advanced English, oral and written.
- Interest in process technology, product development, experimental lab work and data analysis.
- Highly motivated and with the ability to work independently in a well-structured and precise manner.
- Desired experience in the field of chemical analysis of emulsions.
- Practical experience in laboratory, pilot plant or production is desirable (particle size measurement, rheology, image analysis) and fluid mechanics are a plus.
Additional information
At Beiersdorf, we embrace Diversity and aim to provide equal opportunities to all of our applicants – regardless of e.g. gender, sexual identity, nationality, ethnicity, religion or ideology, disability or age. We would therefore kindly ask you to include only information and data in your documents which are relevant for the assessment of your application (e.g. curriculum vitae with relevant references and certificates). For instance, please feel free to upload your CV without a picture. If you have any questions, please contact our recruiter Insa Köhnsen via Students_RC@Beiersdorf.com.
