Lead Dentist for Software Research & Development (m/f/d)

For Advanced Technology Development Software Research

As the Lead Dentist and part of the Advanced Technology Development Team, you will be responsible for clinical input and leadership in our Software Research. You will help us invent, research and develop cutting-edge solutions to some of the most difficult problems in dentistry, whether in visualization, simulation, analysis and other areas to help Align Technology provide better Orthodontic, Restorative, Image Capture, Simulations, Treatment Planning, Visualizations, Manufacturing solutions to our patients, partner dentists and laboratories. We expect you to unlock incredible new experiences leveraging the experience we have with more than 10,000,000 patients.

The main tasks may include

• Clinical coaching of the Advanced Development Software Research team
• Responsible for recruiting & managing clinical labeling specialists helping you label training data for AI and machine learning
• Responsible to coordinate & collect & analyze high-quality feedback on the resulting clinical output of AI and machine learning algorithms
• Proposing ideas for the team of current & future research projects
• Be the Advanced Technology Development team main link with the Global Clinical teams
• Working cross-functionally with the Clinical, Product Marketing, Customer Care, Sales teams to help drive innovation
• Coordinating visits to/from practicing dentists & clinical speakers for the Advanced Technology Development team
• Imagine, Collect & Analyze the potential future product needs of customers
  

The personal requirements

• Degree in dentistry with a minimum of 4 years of experience practicing dentistry
• 1+ year of experience in managing a team
• 1+ year of working with Dental Computer Aided Design or Manufacturing software tools
• Some experience or high interest working with Dental Artificial Intelligence tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required with the ability to interface with product teams, as well as internal/external customers
• The ideal candidate must possess exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills; have an exceptional level of commitment and a positive can-do attitude
• Ability to communicate with people, to clearly express thoughts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
